Hey there folks! Hope you are taking care of yourself and eating healthy. If you follow me on Instagram @TALKCHEEKY then you might already know that I recently moved to France.

And I wanted to share my PERSONAL experience of how things work around here in France. Why? Because there is not a lot of information about many things on the internet.

So, if this is your first time in France and you want to open a bank account here then this short article can come in handy for you.

Sharing my experience of opening a bank account in Paris, France

Before we proceed with the details, I want to mention a couple of things. I am currently living in Paris, the beautiful city of lights and this is where I decided to open a bank account.

Now, I am here in France for my Master’s degree and this gave me the student status. So, the very first thing I did was to shortlist the top banks to open a bank account…especially for a student. I won’t be listing all the names of the banks that I checked out but just the open that I picked for myself.

I decided to go with BNP Paribas bank that also has a very good reputation in the market and is known to provide a great service for English-speaking people. So, I decided to visit the nearest branch of BNP Paribas bank near my accommodation.

I went with another Indian student there, the bank representatives were extremely helpful and they were guiding us through the process in English with a little bit of French here and there. We were given three separate forms to fill in our details and then we submitted the required identification document and address proof.

Once that was done, they provided us with a copy of filled form and informed us that we will be receiving RIB along with other details of our bank account in the next 5 days. In addition to this, we will also be getting a free debit card by BNP Paribas bank that will be mailed to our provided address in the next 10 days.

The entire process was about 15 minutes long and I will be updating you once I receive my BNP Paribas card and how the interest rate and everything works in France.

Again I want to mention that, this is my personal experience and the process that I followed for opening a bank account in Paris as a student. And in case you have any questions regarding the same, feel free to drop a comment or write me an email and I will definitely get back to you at the earliest.

Thank You So Much For Reading Everyone!!!
